Here we sample some of the regionalwines at one of the local wine cellars before we head to Lyon forthe night. Day 4 - Lyon - Avignon - Monaco - Nice (2 nights)
Our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure today! But firstto Avignon where we see the Papal Palace and famous bridge. Thenthrough the Provence of Van Gogh and Cezanne to the tiny butincredibly wealthy Principality of Monaco, which we visit andremember the late Prince Rainier and his beautiful wife, PrincessGrace. Day 5 - Nice at leisure
After breakfast you''ll have a full day at leisure to enjoy therelaxed atmosphere of the Côte d''Azur. Day 6 - Nice - Cannes - Carcassonne
Today our drive takes us through sophisticated Cannes on thismagnificent coast where we see the Film Festival Center on theBoulevard de la Croisette. Then we drive on, passing Alaric''sMountain to reach the walled city of Carcassonne where we enjoy aguided tour of this magical city on arrival. Day 7 - Carcassonne - Lourdes - Biarritz
This morning we wind our way through the Corbières Hills and''Cathar'' landscapes toward the Pyrenées and the pilgrimagesite of Lourdes. Here we will see the Basilica on top of St.Bernadette''s grotto en route to Biarritz. There is time for a walkalong the renowned surfing beach where the Atlantic waves comecrashing in, before we reach our hotel for dinner and overnightstay. Day 8 - Biarritz - Bordeaux
We leave Biarritz and cross the country of Les Landes to theclassical town of Bordeaux. Here an orientation tour shows us themagnificent Esplanade des Quinconces and the banks of the Gironde.This evening we will enjoy a Be My Guest dinner of regionalspecialties. Day 9 - Dordogne excursion
First we drive to the renowned wine village of St. Emilion. Then wetake a scenic half day to the beautiful countryside and scenery ofthe Dordogne region, best known for the enchanting medieval''Bastide'' villages, built with narrow grid streets, central coveredmarket squares and strong rampart walls to protect the inhabitantsduring the period of the 100 years war in the 12th & 13thcenturies. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (Buffetbreakfast)
Day 10 - Bordeaux - Loire Valley - Tours
Heading north today our journey takes us through the PoitouCharentes region to the Loire Valley, where we stop to visit thebeautiful fairytale Palace of Chenonceau, set over the Cher river.Don''t miss the black room of Louise of Lorraine or the RenaissanceKitchens, then on to our hotel for the night. Day 11 - Tours - Mont St. Michel - Omaha Beach
This morning we continue our journey into Brittany, to visit theisland-town of Mont St. Michel with its picturesque streets andabbey. From here we travel along the Liberty Highway to St. Lôand the D-Day landing beaches. Here we have the chance to see wherethis momentous event took place and to remember the lives that weretouched by this conflict. Then we have the chance to visit the newD-Day museum, which recalls the events in every detail and is sucha poignant reminder of this recent history. Day 12 - Omaha Beach - Giverny - Paris (2 nights)

Day 13 - Paris sightseeing & at leisure
Today''s sightseeing tour with a local guide includes the ascent ofthe Eiffel Tower to its second level for wonderful views over thecity. Other highlights include views of Notre Dame Cathedral, theArc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and the ChampsÉlysées. Our main highlight will be a stroll through thegardens of Les Invalides where we will visit the tomb of theEmperor Napoleon Bonaparte, housed in the magnificent golden domedchurch. The rest of the day is at leisure. Later we will enjoy aFarewell Dinner together with our Tour Director and new-foundfriends. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)
Day 14 - Paris - USA
This morning, after breakfast, it is ''au revoir'' to our TourDirector and fellow travelers as our French vacation comes to anend. There are transfers available to Charles de Gaulle Airport,conditions apply. (Buffet breakfast)

9 or more: If 9 or more people travel together, we offer attractive group discounts based on how many people travel. In a group of 9 passengers, 1 traveller qualifies for a 50% discount off the LAND-only portion of the tour. In a group of 16 passengers, 1 traveller qualifies for 100% discount off the LAND-only portion of the tour.

Share a Room and Save!
When travelling alone, we understand that some clients do not want to incur the expense of an additional single room supplement. With this in mind, on the majority of our itineraries, Trafalgar offers you the opportunity to purchase these tours on a room-sharing basis. We will accommodate you with a fellow passenger of the same gender on a ‘two-bedded’ basis (non-smoking rooms only). Please note that, regrettably, we cannot guarantee that room mates will be of a similar age group. Even so, it is an enjoyable way to travel and get to make new friends, and a positive way to stretch your holiday budget. If we fail to match you, we will provide a single room at no extra cost.
